Insurance

So far, I haven’t had too many surprises with my medical bills from my May 2nd car accident. Kaiser and the auto insurance company are doing their parts. There’s one bill that’s kind of a mess, but it’ll get taken care of. I was a little nervous when I opened a letter from the hospital where I spent that night, expecting to owe the difference between what they billed Kaiser and what Kaiser actually paid. Luckily, that was not the case:
Total charges: $27038.85
Balance due: $200.00
(Kaiser only paid about $23000 of the bill)
So I wrote a check and sent it in. Also sent a copy of the bill to the insurance company for them to reimburse me. Still, I’m not used to seeing a five figure number on a bill.

Haircuts

One unfortunate thing that I’ve noticed lately is that the older I get, the less time it takes to get a haircut. It took me 20 minutes to walk a block down the street, get my haircut at Supercuts, and walk back. That has to be some kind of record. Of course, this is because my hair is disappearing. It won’t be much longer before I just shave it down really short… have to work up the nerve to do it though.

What a difference a week makes

Things are getting exciting out in Brentwood. They’re finally making some real progress on my house! Compare last week’s shot with today’s:

Is it stealing if…

… you go to a newspaper machine to buy a paper, pull the door, and it opens? This happened to me today, so I grabbed a paper, and put the quarter back in my pocket.
Other news: rode the stationary bike Monday-Friday for 25 mins each, quite a feat for me. Finished Shenmue II on XBox, now moving onto Knights of the Old Republic. Going to look at the house tomorrow.
