On top of the medical bills and work I have to do, now the home loan stuff is really becoming stressful. Without going into details, things are not going smoothly (thank you self-employment), but I should be able to get myself out of this mess. Having my fax machine eat my bank statements does not help matters.
The other day, I was chatting with a friend at one of the camera companies. She was complaining about being stressed and said that she and (presumably) some coworkers were going to “get their toes done” at lunch.
After some sort of acknowledgment on my part, she asked me if I’d ever had a pedicure. I said “nope”, and she told me how good they felt.
I had no idea that men got pedicures. There must be three nail and pedicure places on my street, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man walk out of one of them. I know one thing for sure: I don’t want some strange person messing with my feet.
That’s “Yet Another House Update”.
I made a very quick out-and-back trip to see the house. They’ve put in the floor tile and also the stucco on the outside (finally). Check out the latest update.
I was also pleased to see that the Brentwood (okay, Antioch) Target store opens October 12th — just in time.
As if my car accident insurance fiasco couldn’t get any worse, today I got a bill from Kaiser for over $26,000. Keep in mind that I was a passenger in someone else’s car, who was rear-ended by a truck. The truck is 100% at fault and we have the police report to prove it. Just a few weeks ago I spoke with Healthcare Recoveries, who was supposed to sort this all out and bill the right people. Well, they obviously didn’t do their job, as I got left with the bill. I’ve made two phone calls so far, but the person I need to speak to is of course not there. If I don’t get anywhere with them, I guess I’ll have to find a lawyer to bail me out. There’s no way I’m paying this bill.
