Kaiser wants their money back

Today I got a call from a company called Healthcare Recoveries, on behalf of Kaiser. They also sent me a letter the other day. Their job is to get money from insurance companies to compensate Kaiser for the huge bill they paid when I was in the (non-Kaiser) hospital in May. She took down all kinds of information, mostly contact info. She didn’t say they were going to take the money that I got recently, but I imagine that will happen soon enough.

I’m awake

Nothing like a grande nonfat mocha and helping Amit push a 4000 lb car in his garage to get the blood pumping. Finished my work for the evening so hopefully I can go to bed early for a change.

Need… coffee… badly

I was up working until around 2am last night (including a 1 hour “study break”) and then proceeded to not sleep well. The early morning thunderstorm did not help matters. I’ve got a lot of work to do today and I’m totally dragging, so it’s off to Starbucks I go.

Who was I kidding

On the upcoming reviews page on my DCRP site, I added “Free time???” to the list, after I finish off my last three camera reviews.
Now I’m realizing that I’m not going to get much free time after all. This little DCRP redesign project isn’t so little after all. First, I am building a content management system from scratch. I’ve made good progress on it, so soon I can begin the next project: taking the news archives (going all the way back to 11/97) and putting them into the database.
Once that’s done, I need to write a news search engine. And a newsletter system. And my new FAQ system needs a lot of work and data entry.
When all is finished, I’ll have a much more advanced back-end for the site. Not to mention a new design — but that’s a story for another day.
I’m just hoping that there aren’t too many cameras to review in the next month or so.
