I fired off nearly 100 photos and took probably 80 bad ones. My 75-300mm lens’ infinite focus position is not at the end of the range of motion, which makes it hard to get perfect focus — so lots of blurry images. And forget autofocus, it’s way too slow for this kind of thing. So in the end, maybe 1 out of 9 shots that I took was a keeper… but I guess that’s how it is when you’re “in the field”. Having a 512MB CF card let me keep going and going…

Great pix of the Navy’s best(and I don’t mean their football team)!
I hear that the Thunderbirds will be flying high next month at Nellis AFB(north of Las Vegas). If I attend the air show, I’ll try to get some photos of their program.
