I used the local bar association’s referral service to get hooked up with a lawyer to talk about my insurance settlement issues. I’ll be meeting him on Friday morning. We’ll see what happens!

Every year I get little “thank you” gifts from the various camera manufacturers. Unfortunately none of them are $5000 D-SLRs, but I wouldn’t accept one of those anyway.

Last year I made a custom calendar of my sister’s dog Jackson, who has been featured on this blog many times. It was a big hit with family and friends. So I’m at it again for this year. I didn’t see him very much this year so I don’t have a great collection of pictures, but I managed to come up with enough photos for each month plus the front cover. The folks at Shutterfly.com do a great job printing them, as well.

Today I took the new Canon 10-22 mm lens for a spin in SF. Of course, I botched the settings (ISO 1600 — oops) and don’t know a thing about correcting the huge amounts of distortion from a lens this wide, but I got some really nice photos if I do say so myself. Click the link to see them.

I was looking at some old pictures and found this one again. What an awesome shot of Spaceship Earth at Epcot. A great ride, and an even better picture (grin).
It also reminds me just how badly I need a vacation… it’s been like 3 years since I’ve gone anywhere (damn work)… and I’m telling myself to take some time off around Xmas, but I’ve got nowhere to go.
