Missing trains
I should get an award for “best train misser”. In recent weeks I’ve turned missing trains into an artform. I can miss BART, MUNI, and yesterday I even added Caltrain to my list. On Tuesday I had to sprint from my car in the BART parking lot to catch the train and amazingly I did. Most other times I’m not so lucky.
Yesterday a fussy ticket machine and very surly Caltrain conductor kept me from boarding the train (“we don’t sell tickets, we ISSUE tickets. wait for the next train (an hour later)”. [doors shut]). Thankfully Willo came back to bail me out of the hole that is the 22nd St. Caltrain station, earning major brownie points in the process. Later that night on the way home, I was having a long conversation with my sister in the car that went a little too long. I walked down into the BART station to see the train pulling away. Next train: 20 minutes.
Sigh.
