Today Amit and I watched the Blue Angels perform over San Francisco Bay. Per Amit’s suggestion we watched from the Golden Gate Bridge, something that I’ve been wanting to try. While it’s not the best spot for watching the show, it’s great for close encounters with the planes, as they buzzed the bridge at least five times.

Click the link to see some pics that I took with my Canon EOS-20D and 70-200 F4L lens.

"Fat Albert" sneaking behind the GG Bridge

And later buzzing Alcatraz and numerous boats

One of many passes over the bridge

    One of my favs

    "Going dirty"

    Really like this one

    This one’s cool too

Not the greatest photo due to the distance, but you can see the jet kicking up water

    • Great pictures Jeff. I just spent two days getting toasted at the Airshow here in Houston. Happily though because I love Airshows. I like the picture with the planes flying dirty.

    • Wonderful pictures! Some seem to be right over your head!! Makes you want to duck! We had an airshow here, too, this past weekend. –GM

    • Fantastic pics! You got some great shots there. Any particular ISO and shutter speed that worked best for you?
PS Tx for answering my other email inbetween your house signing and all. Didn’t realize all that was happening for you. Very nice of you to do so.

    • Those pics are fantastic! Love that top one which shows the heat patterns in the air behind the jet. I was wishing I still had my sailboat – Fleet Week was my favorite time to go out and get a close, unobstructed view of the Blue Angels. We were able to catch a lot of the show from our back deck this year, though, which was cool.
