Five lessons learned in 2005
Posted on December 28th, 2005 2 commentsAs the year comes to close, I’ve been thinking about some things that I learned this year. Some of them I already knew, while others were things that I haven’t really thought about before. In no particular order, they are:
1) Trust your gut. If you have a strange feeling about someone or something, it’s probably right.
2) There’s no such thing as a one-way friendship. Friendships should never be one way.
3) While they’re fun to have, having a nice house, fancy car, and lots of toys has no long term benefit. In other words, money doesn’t buy happiness.
4) On a related note: any problem can be solved with money. I learned this from my realtor and, at least with houses, it’s true.
5) Gaining weight is easy. Getting rid of those extra pounds takes forever. Apparently this applies to cats as well as humans.2 responses to “Five lessons learned in 2005”

Boy will I second #1. I took a job because, well, I needed a job and its hard to find one mid-year for a teacher, especially one fresh out of school. But I had a strange feeling in my gut and it was the most miserable experience ever.

Number 3 seems to contradict with number 4, but otherwise I agree (especially with numbers 1 and 3.)
PS: We’re back in town — though with the rain, maybe it was too soon.
