Today I planted some vegetables up at the top of the hill in my backyard (with a little help from Zoe). I planted broccoli, sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes, and onions, in addition to the grapes that I put there a month ago. I had a fairly green thumb in Brentwood and I hope I have similar luck here. Of course, the sun needs to come out so things will actually grow!
I can’t think of anything I’d rather do on Friday night than change a tire. In the dark. In the pouring rain. But that’s just what I did tonight. It started out innocently enough. I was going to stop in at a local cafe to do some work at the gym. While parallel parking I hit the curb — evidently at the wrong angle. When I got out of the car, the tire was losing air fast, and it was flat in about three minutes. So, I changed the tire. This was the first time I’ve ever done it by myself, and I pulled it off. A lady who lived nearby came out with a flashlight to help out, and I’m grateful for her help. So, the car is back in action, and I have a tire to replace.
I seem to be cursed with flat tires lately… I’ve had like four in the last year (on two different cars).
After literally years of talking about it, my friend Marc and I have finally launched our printer review site — PrinterSpot. This site is designed to be part of the DCRP site, so if you’re used to that site you’ll feel right at home on PrinterSpot. We’ll be covering photo and multifunction printers here, and we’ve already got seven reviews ready to go. Other features include an extensive printer database, a very cool Supplies section, and forums.
We’ll officially “launch” PrinterSpot next week, so you blog readers get a little preview. If this site does half as well as the DCRP, then it’ll be a big success!
I now have two places to sit and enjoy my backyard, courtesy of Costco. About a month ago I got this nice little wrought iron table:
It only cost about $50 for the table and two chairs!
What I’ve really been wanting, though, is a big wood table for the main deck. I spotted one at Costco the other day and my folks helped me pick it up and get it to my house. It comes with four chairs, but we only unpacked three since 1) there’s really not a lot of room for a fourth chair and 2) people can sit on the “bench” instead.
Pretty nice! And half the price of similar tables at Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn.
