Empty piggy bank

I’m feeling a little poor right now. I’ve got quarterly income taxes to pay (already paid the 2005 bill). Then there’s property tax. And supplemental property tax. And who knows how much it’ll cost to fix my chimney.
The property taxes are the worst. The first bill uses the previous assessed value of your house, which was like $300,000. Then you get the supplemental bill, which covers the difference between the old assessed value and the new one. I’ll be paying upwards of $10,000 a year in property tax for this house, which seems a bit absurd to me. All that money, and the storm drains still clog up.
