  • Europe Trip Day 6: Corfu

Today we stopped in Corfu, Greece. Corfu wasn’t nearly as interesting as Dubrovnik
in my opinion. Still, the old town was quaint, and I managed to score some
souvenirs for some friends while I was there.

In other news, my luck at the casino ran out last night. I gave back all of
my winnings, first on the slots, and then in blackjack. As they say, the house
    never loses.

Tomorrow we make the trek to ancient Olympia, which should be interesting.

Oh, and since some people have asked – I’m taking all of these photos with
    my Canon EOS-20D and 17 – 85 mm lens.

Before we start, some more photos from last night:

    Great sunset

A view inside the dining room. I am doing a LOT of eating this week.

And this is one of the things I had last night… chocoloate avalanche cake.
    Yum!

    Okay, now onto Corfu:

Here’s the Monestary again, with a white cat curled up toward the bottom right

That white building is a Nunnery

Next it was over to the old town

    This is the old fortress

    • Jee, wish I had your eyes and my holiday pics were that great…
I’m off to Austria on monday (by car, I already live in Europe), so I’ll be missing your updates :-( (no Inet there…)

    • I have never been on Corfu, but after reading ‘My Familly and Other Animals’ by Gerald Durrel I really want to. Very nice pictures!
