Because everyone else is doing it…
Behold the bamboo

Okay, so six rows of bamboo doesn’t look like much, but it’s a major accomplishment for me, considering what a nightmare this project turned out to be. The floor is finally free of mortar, so we started to actually put it down. First we did a mockup, cutting the pieces as needed. Then, I got out the glue, which costs a whopping $17 a gallon! You apply the glue just like you would mortar, and then the countdown begins. You have 20 to 30 minutes to get that wood down before the stuff starts to harden, and believe me, my dad and I were down to the wire. The wood does everything possible to be uncooperative and make our lives difficult… but in the end, it worked out, and it looks good. Too bad there’s like 20 rows still to come!
