When tax time is funny

I love some of these special tax situations in TurboTax:

I’m going to need a bigger lap

I got my new 17″ Macbook Pro today. 2.93 Ghz, 4GB RAM, 320GB 7200 rpm drive (the SSD was too much $$), and the anti-glare screen (I hate glossy). It’s a monster for sure… but I love having the big screen!

What’s wrong with this picture?

Oh, brother…

One for the carelessness hall of fame

I own a small kitchen scale that I use for weighing some of my meals (for diet purposes). It often sits on my stove, which is one of those flat glass electric models. Today I wanted to make some soup, so I put the pot on the stove and turned on the burner. The wrong burner. I was in the other room when I smelled something funny, and I went into the kitchen to see toxic smoke everywhere and the scale melting on the stovetop. The scale is toast, and I’m hoping that the stove can be cleaned up. Stupid.

Too good not to share

I got this e-mail from a disgruntled ‘customer’ whom I’m apparently disrepecting. I’ll leave his name out of it, but will post the message for your enjoyment:
You have very nice review that I preferred over dpreview but…
I was probably one of your most loyal reader but I’m not because your reviews are so often delayed and for many days… it’s too much for me. To me it’s a mark of no respect. I could understand 1, 2 or 3 days once in a while due to rain, but you abuse too many times for too many days of my sympathy. Sorry ! I ban your site and removed the link from my own website.
Bye and good luck.
A frustrated user that waited too much too often !!!

My thoughts:

  • Rain delays do happen — I need clear skies for my test photos
  • Last week was spent writing a preview of a yet-to-be-announced camera
  • I have many other tasks besides writing reviews
  • Don’t let the door hit you on the way out
