Your symptoms are very similar to what my nephew has experienced, and he is a diabetic. He lost all feeling in his foot, and actually had an injury that he did not feel. He had to wear a boot for almost a year, and still has very little feeling in that foot. At one time he thought he may lose it, but fortunately it has improved.
