Save this for posterity

Because this is the only time I’ll ever praise a credit card company. Since I bought my now stolen bicycle with my Visa Signature card, I had theft/damage protection on it. I filed a claim (paperwork, yay) and they just cut me a $500 check (the maximum), which covers 2/3 of the cost of my bike! Thank you Visa and Chase!

Too close for comfort

This small fire is burning less than 2 miles away from my house. The planes are already attacking it, and the weather doesn’t seem to be a problem, so hopefully it’ll be out soon. Still, it’s a reminder of the area in which I live!

Finally, a plan of action

After numerous doctor visits, several x-rays, an MRI, and way too many tubes of blood drawn, I finally have a diagnosis and plan of action regarding my foot. While we can’t say for sure, it sounds like I injured my foot when it slipped out from under me and I fell on my butt (last winter).  I have tendonitis on both the inside and outside of the foot, as well as in the heel.

The plan: rest and elevation of the foot (easier said than done, given my job),  wearing a support stocking (oh boy), and physical therapy (starts Tuesday).  I sure hope this helps, because I’m tired of the swelling, numbness, and lack of flexibility in my foot!

Bah

I come back from a weekend trip to Southern California (for business and pleasure) to find my 1.5 month old, $650 bicycle stolen out of my garage (which is for storage, not cars).  You can’t see into the garage driving by, so someone had to know the bike was in there, walk up the driveway, and take it. I filed a police report and contacted the neighbors, but I’m not counting on ever seeing that bike again.

On top of that, one of the tires on my car had a nail in it, and air was leaking. Thankfully it was only $30 to fix that problem.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
