I love my PSP

| | Comments (7)

Yesterday morning I got my PSP after waiting for what seemed like an eternity. The verdict: awesome. It plays movies, music, and displays photos. Did I mention that it plays games too? So far my favorite is Lumines, though network Wipeout Pure is pretty fun. Last night Mark and I looked like total nerds sitting in the back of Sweet Inspiration playing against each other wirelessly. Today I showed some other friends and let them have it. The look on the UPS delivery guy's face was priceless when he saw my friend Marc playing in a Starbucks.

This is really going to shorten those long BART rides that I take so often!

I've heard so many good things about how PSP plays and stuff, but how does the battery fair? Before the launch there's a good number of people concerning about the battery life (myself included) and now that all seemed to go away...

I haven't had any battery life issues thus far. I'm pretty good at keeping it charged up, though. Only issue I have are a few dead pixels... oh well.

Here's how Sony deals with dead pixels :/

I know this may seem like a really "doh!" question, but this was released to compete with the GameBoy, right? Is it really worth $250? And I saw the packages for the PSP, so how does it play movies? Are they streamed?

No, if I am not mistaken they are either in their special disc format or you can store movies in Sony's ever so lovely (/sarcasm) memory stick duo.

I bought a PSP with my hard earned money from working a shitty job and I must say that I have spawned a growth on my hand. It is never put down, and then when it must charge I still play it. I have had no problems with dead pixels and I've had it for almost a year, and the battery is still as good as it was when I bought it. So yeah...Good System overall. Go buy SOCOM: Fire Team Bravo if you guys get a chance.

My PSP never leaves my side, I got it a few months ago and it has never been put down. I bought SOCOM: FTB, and GTA: Liberty City Stories, and ad-hoc and infrastructure is great on both. Sony did a good job on this one.
