Possible solution?
I've long grumbled about the loneliness that comes from working at home (alone). An article in the SF Chronicle today provides an interesting possibility -- co-working. It sounds just like what I've been looking for: working around other people, without actually working with them. Downsides are cost, having to commute, and a lack of a privacy. Still, I'll be giving this one some serious thought.

Here's an idea. Hire a cleaning person for 2 mornings a week. It will probably cost you less than the rent for the space, and you will get your house cleaned in the process. Make sure she/he does laundry and will make the bed.....and does windows. You'll have someone around a few hours, but be alone the rest of the time to get work done.
Of course, when I had a cleaning lady, I tried to get out of the house so she would work. Otherwise she would talk all the time and get nothing done. I guess they get lonely too.
Hi jeff,
if you read the email I sent you some days ago it could contain a possible solution to your loneliness problem... :-)
Anyway, I'm used to work with other people and for sure having the chance to share some chat and thoughts is a refreshing opportunity and also improve the results. Also it force you to pay more attention at yourself... how to dress, how to behave, etc....
Obviously, you have to choose the right people to work with, the ones that mix smoothly with you or it could be a real pain...
cheers
