Europe Trip Day 2 Bonus: Italy Wins
Jul 9th
The city of Rome is going nuts right now. As you know, Italy won the World Cup, and you could HEAR it in the air when the game ended. There are a ton of people in the streets with flags… or in their cars honking the horn. I guess this is an added bonus to my trip!
Europe Trip Day 2: Florence
Jul 9th

On our second full day we took a fairly short day trip to Florence. It takes
a little over 90 minutes on the Eurostar Italia to get there, which isn’t too
bad. Plus, it’s a really scenic ride through the incredible Tuscan countryside.
We did lots of walking around, and we made a stop in the way-too-hot Uffizi
gallery, which wasn’t as exciting as I remembered (one can only stand so much
early Christian art). More pics after the link.
Europe Trip Day 1: Rome
Jul 9th

I’m pooped! Thursday afternoon I hopped on a long flight to Frankfurt.
After finding my way through that very confusing airport I was on my plane
to Rome. Once there things got pretty crazy. Rome is mobbed and very hot,
and I somehow managed to pick up some stomach bug on the trip over (shouldn’t
have had that sandwich on the plane). I almost lost my breakfast twice at
the Vatican Museum, and I’m still not feeling right. Hopefully my body will
get back to normal soon.
Anyhow, click the link to see some sights that I saw in my first
24 hours in Rome!
