Paradise Pier (10:30am Part II)

The Maliboomer is an S&S Power "Space Shot" ride that can be found
at many other amusement parks. You are shot straight up in the air, and then
you bounce a few times. Knott's Berry Farm has the reverse of it -- the Turbo
Drop, which takes you up and then drops you down. The line for this was always
an hour long or more, and since I can do this elsewhere, I skipped it.

Riders are launched to 55mph at the beginning of California Screamin'. There's
supposed to be some kind of water effect here but it was not working all day.
The ride is fun -- smooth, long (over 3 mins), and there's even some decent
airtime in the back seats. All the lift hills use linear induction motors instead
of chain lifts! We rode this ride twice and enjoyed it immensely.

Here's the reverse angle, showing the launch. It took me quite a few tries to
get the blurring effect, but thankfully, the trains come often. They're able
to run at least 3 trains on the track at all times, while another two are loading.
That means the line moves pretty quickly.

Avalon Cove is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, that sits on the lake. I didn't look
at the menu, so I can't really comment on it.
