All photos were taken on my new Nikon Coolpix 950 digital camera, at a resolution of 1600x1200. Our photos are even better than before!
As usual, I'll put a to the lower-left of photos I think are first rate.

More Frontierland

As I mentioned, I took a ride on the Twain for the first time in a long time. When you're alone at the park, these things are easier to do. I did take some photos while on board, but nothing exciting.

Left: Some folks hard at work in a canoe, with the Twain in the background.
Right: The Columbia got no work today.

Whales, Giraffes, and Ghosts

Two quick shots from Fantasyland:

Left: Some neat topiaries in front of Small World. I like the bird sitting on the rhino's head!
Right: The recently replaced Monstro swallows a Storybookland boat.

And here's two from the Haunted Mansion:

Left: The sign outside the gates.
Right: A look at the front of the Mansion.

And Finally... Toontown

I got some requests for Toontown pictures, so here's plenty of them. I tried to make a panoramic shot, but it didn't come out (note to self: bring a tripod one of these days).

Above: Here are the three frames that were supposed to be a panorama. You'll have to stitch this one together in your mind!

Top Left: The fire station in Toontown. The kids were conveniently posing for their own picture when I took this.

Top Right: Toontown City Hall

Below Left: The Jolly Trolley (I thought these were broken?) -- I nearly got run over trying to take a photo of this thing!

I've never been on Gadget's Go Coaster.. and still haven't. But that didn't stop me from taking some photos of that as well.

Above: Two shots of the train going along the tracks.

Odds and Ends - Knotts and San Diego

I also spent most of Thursday the 16th at Knotts Berry Farm. This was my first trip there, ever. The crowds were non-existant.. never a line for anything! Here's what I rode:

Ghostrider (4 rides, one in front, three in back): Nothing beats the back seat for some incredible airtime. There was one hill where I *really* left my seat, and there was lots of other great airtime throughout. The thing just doesn't stop going until it hits the breaks.. non-stop action. I was really surprised at the amount of lateral G's that you pulled-- this thing really throws you into the sides of the seats, especially on the helix near the end. I found Roar at Six Flags Marine World to be a bit smoother, but it is way behind in the airtime department. With never more than a one train wait, it was easy to keep riding GR. Definitely my #1 Wood coaster.

Montezooma's Revenge (4 rides, mixed seating): This ride was great! The launch is superb, you pull some major G's on the loop, and it's fast! There was never a wait, either! More enjoyable than PGA's Tidal Wave (Greezed what??) for some unknown reason.

Supreme Scream (1 ride, thank you very much): Ugh. One ride was enough. I'm not really that afraid of heights but this thing was too high for my taste. The drop was good, but I didn't want to go on it again.

Jaguar (1 ride): I guess this is one of those "mini steel coasters" in RCT. It wasn't terribly exciting but not bad for the kids.

Log Ride (2 rides): Now this was fun! Kind of like an early Splash Mountain, with multiple drops, scenery, and even a hidden drop in the dark! I was surprised how enjoyable this one was.

Raft ride (forgot the name, one ride): Thank God the waterfalls were off.. I still managed to get pretty wet. This was a decent ride.

Boomerang (one ride was enough): I'd never been on one of these before (Invertigo being the exception) and I should've kept it that way. I don't like the stop in the pacing of the ride, and the return trip through the loops made us both feel queasy. Two thumbs down.

We also did some other rides that I can't remember.. Knotts is a nice park but we were out of there quickly. We did have some fried chicken for lunch which was quite tasty.

I spent a day in San Diego as well (my old haunt), staying at the lovely Hyatt Regency in downtown. Here's a view from my room on the 24th floor:

Left: A shot towards the skyline of San Diego.
Right: A time lapse shot looking northwest. Those white dots on the top left are from a plane taking off.

That's all folks! Your comments are always welcomed!
