Seattle Trip Photos
[03/24/2000 - 03/26/2000]
Dad and I took off to the Seattle area for a little R&R recently. Just coincidentally, it was the same weekend that the Kingdome was being imploded -- just my luck! Amazingly, it didn't rain at all on us -- amazing!
Below see my photos and commentary from around the Seattle area.
All of these photos were taken with the Casio QV-3000EX digital camera, in "fine" mode. Be sure to read the DCRP review of this camera for more information.

I was busy watching this with my eyes, rather than trying to take the video, so it's pretty bad.
Sunday, March 26th - Kingdome Destruction
Kind of a hazy day from my viewing spot about 1.5 miles away.
Literally hundreds (if not thousands) of boats were lined up to watch.
Watch my lousy video of the Kingdome implosion in native AVI format (you may have trouble viewing this!) or Quicktime 4.0 format (smaller too).
The aftermath -- look out for the dust cloud!
More dust... it's gone!!
The boats are all making a run for it to get beat the crowds back to the...
... locks! Here the boats pile into the locks to cross back into Lake Union.
Here's everybody all lined up to go.
These Canada Geese are real characters.
Museum of Flight
The original Air Force One, which carried Eisenhower, Kennedy, and LBJ.
A pod racer (from Star Wars) inside the museum.
An SR-71 Blackbird with drone.
An ALCM cruise missile can carry a nuclear or conventional warhead over 1500 miles, flying just above tree level!
An old DC-3
I believe this is an F-4 Phantom II.
